Pricing
The ticket prices for the Bergtagung are as follows:
- 1-Night ticket: EUR 12 (CHF 20)
- 2-Night ticket: EUR 22 (CHF 35)
- 3-Night ticket: EUR 30 (CHF 45)
This price includes wireless and wired Internet access, sleeping in old-ish military style bunk beds and wear and tear on our wool blankets. Also included is free all-you-can-drink access to mineral water quality tapwater
You may also use the school building’s kitchen as much as you like if you want to make your own food, cook tea etc.
Note that you will not have to pay anything in case you arrive on Sunday and don’t need to sleep there.
Payment
Please bring cash (EUR or Swiss Francs are fine) to pay for your ticket when you arrive. If you choose to stay longer than originally planned, you may convert your ticket while you’re here. Just talk to one of the organizers.
Lodging
We have sleeping quarters for several dozen people that look like they were bought wholesale from the crumbling Soviet union:

They’re quite comfy if you keep a nice wool blanket around you, though, or if you ”’bring a sleeping bag”’. There are ”’A FEW”’ better, proper beds with mattresses around, too. Those are first come, first served, and we cannot yet say how many there are.
Camping
You are allowed to bring your own tent. Camping is free of charge, but please announce your intentions to one of the organizers before you arrive, so everything can be settled with the village administration and a camping spot can be assigned for your tent.
Food
Food is ”’not”’ included in the price of the ticket! But we plan to eat together. To keep things simple, we charge CHF 15 (EUR 10) per person for dinners and CHF 25 in case there is a BBQ. Meat is very expensive in Switzerland, that’s why a BBQ would cost that much more.
Home-cooked food at the Bergtagung building
We can use the school’s kitchen to cook our own food! See the food page for details (Page not yet implemented, sorry).
Eating out
Possible locations include:
- The local village restaurant (opening hours relatively mysterious)
- The neighboring town of Ruschein can be reached on foot and they have pizza
- Driving (by car, not public transport) to a restaurant in the nearby towns of Rueun or Ilanz is possible (quite some selection there)
